*Tuesday, March 25, the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee, will hold a workshop titled “Before You Write Your First Grant.” The workshop will teach nonprofit attendees about grant writing terms and will highlight different kinds of grant makers. The session will also provide tips on researching grant writing resources and connecting with potential funders. The session, which will cater to individuals who don’t have much experience with grant writing, will run from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee, located at 2819 W. Highland Blvd. in Milwaukee. Cost to attend is $15 for Nonprofit Center members and CDBG agencies and $50 for non-members. *Tuesday, March 25, Literacy Services of Wisconsin will hold a volunteer orientation for individuals interested in learning how to become involved with the agency’s literacy programming. The orientation will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Literacy Services of Wisconsin, located at 555 N. Plankinton Ave. in Milwaukee. Attendees will not be required to commit to volunteering. *Thursday, March 27, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Greater Milwaukee Chapter will hold an event focused on social innovation in the nonprofit sector. The event, titled “Sparking Creativity: Social Innovation at Your Nonprofit,” will feature a presentation by Deanna Singh, executive director of the Burke Foundation. The event will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Burke Foundation, located at 320 E. Buffalo St. in Milwaukee. YNPN members can attend for free, and non-members can attend for $5.
