*Friday, Feb. 21, the Milwaukee Art Museum will host “MAM After Dark: MKE Cocktails & Crafts.” The social event, presented by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, will feature a trunk show, live music, crafts, cocktails, snacks, docent-led tours of art exhibits, a photo booth and more. The event will run from 6 p.m. to midnight at the museum, located at 700 N. Art Museum Dr. in Milwaukee. Cost is $9 in advance and $14 at the door. *Saturday, Feb. 22, the Urban Economic Development Association of Wisconsin (UEDA) will host its annual fundraiser, Carnival Milwaukee, at the Zoofari Conference Center. The fundraiser will feature food from more than 24 area Milwaukee restaurants and caterers, live music performed by De La Buena, and a raffle among other activities. Attendees are encouraged to wear carnival costumes and cultural clothing. Event proceeds will benefit UEDA’s work to support organizations tackling issues related to community and economic development. The fundraiser will run from 7 to 11 p.m. The Zoofari Conference Center is located at 9715 W. Blue Mound Rd. in Milwaukee. Carnival tickets cost $40. *Tuesday, Feb. 25, Literacy Services of Wisconsin will hold a volunteer orientation for individuals interested in learning how to become involved with its agency and programs. The orientation, free to attend, will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Literacy Services of Wisconsin, located at 555 N. Plankinton Ave. in Milwaukee. *Tuesday, Feb. 25, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Greater Milwaukee Chapter will host its 2014 Membership Kick-Off. During the event, which is free and open to the public, attendees will be able to meet the new YNPN Board and speed network. The event will also feature a keynote speech by Christy Brown, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Wisconsin. The kick-off will be held at Miller Inn, located at 3979 W. *Thursday, March 6, the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning will hold a seminar on how to promote and steward planned gifts. The event, titled “Big or Small: Promoting Stewarding Planned Gifts in Any Size Organization,” will cater to nonprofit representatives from all organization sizes and sectors with a panel discussion featuring executives from different types of Milwaukee-area nonprofits. The event, which will also include lunch, networking, and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning’s annual meeting, will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Italian Conference Center, located at 631 E. The workshop will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee, located at 2819 W. Highland Blvd. in Milwaukee. Cost is $25. Nonprofit Center members and CDBG agencies can attend for free. Attendees should plan to bring a brown bag lunch to eat during the session.
