Ontario, Calif.-based Niagara Bottling LLC recently purchased a 22.8-acre site in Pleasant Prairie where it plans to build a $56 million, 377,000-square-foot plant.

Niagara Bottling bought the site, located at 11031 88th Ave. in the LakeView Corporate Park, from Oak Brook, Ill.-based Centerpoint Wispark Land Company for $2.98 million, according to state records.

The facility will package and distribute private label water for customers as well as the Niagara label. It is expected to open in early 2015.

The plant initially will include one production line with the option for installing additional lines in the future. The $56 million project is expected to create about 40 jobs in the first phase.
