Next week is downtown employee appreciation week

The fourth annual Downtown employee appreciation week kicks off Monday, July 27 and goes until Friday, July 31. The week’s events are coordinated by Milwaukee Downtown, business improvement district #21.

“At a time where we’re all having to watch our spending, Downtown Employee Appreciation Week is a way for employers to say thank you to their employees, and on a much larger scale, a way for the central business district to thank its business owners,” said Beth Nicols, executive director of Milwaukee Downtown. “Since its inaugural year in 2006, we have grown the event in every capacity to appeal to the interests of downtown Milwaukee’s 78,000 employees.”

The week will get started at the opening ceremony scheduled for 12 p.m. at Chase Tower at Water and Wisconsin. The ceremony will include live music, games and giveaways such as Cousins sub samples, bottled water from KEI Landscaping and boxes of Marcus movie popcorn for the first 1,000 employees.

Other events scheduled throughout the week include a beach volleyball challenge, lunchtime walks, dancing with downtown, a downtown battle of the bands competition, the "world’s largest coffee break," office challenge games and office rockstar with prizes and daily giveaways.
