Arté, wine and painting studio, will open to the public on Wednesday, December 28. The studio, located at 7511 Harwood Ave in Wauwatosa, is the first of it’s kind in Milwaukee and will provide a unique opportunity for people to learn how to paint one featured paintings while sipping on wine.
“The concept is to first have fun and then to learn to paint in the process,” said Lisa Allen, co-owner of Arté. “For the same price as going to a bar or a concert, someone can have an entertaining night with friends, family or co-workers and also leave with a beautiful painting.”
Arté hosts one-night painting parties. Each participant paints the same featured painting, but no two paintings ever turn out exactly alike, and everyone leaves as an artist with their very own masterpiece, Allen said.
“After the painting party, people are always amazed at how well they did,” Allen said. “They walk in thinking they can only create stick figures and walk out with their own charming rendition of Starry Night and also a sense of accomplishment.”
According to Allen, Arté can be booked for date nights, girls’ night out parties, birthdays, holiday parties, anniversaries, corporate events or team building activities. “Arté is a great venue for employee team building activities,” said Karen Salituro, co-owner of Arte. “It’s an excellent creative outlet and way for co-workers to connect outside of the office.”
The studio can accommodate up to 45 guests and costs $35 per person for a two-hour painting session or $45 for a three-hour painting session. Participants can search Arté’s online calendar for a painting they wish to paint and sign up for the date it is offered. All materials needed for painting including easels, canvases, smocks, acrylic paint and paintbrushes will be provided. At this time, Arté encourages people to bring their own drinks and snacks.
“We are very thrilled with the outcome of the first test classes we’ve held,” said Salituro. “It is exciting to see people enjoying a new experience and really getting into it. Most people have commented on how much fun they’ve had and that they would definitely tell others and come back again.”
