New startup company to offer unlimited streamed workouts

BJ Gaddour, Milwaukee fitness entrepreneur and contributor to Men’s Health, has officially launched StreamFIT LLC, a fitness version of a Netflix-type streaming alternative to DVD workouts.
“We really wanted to offer the flexibility of workouts like P90X on DVD, and at the same time cater to the consumer’s preference for streaming data,” Gaddour said. “DVD’s are a shrinking market and there’s this group of 18-35 year old consumers that know fitness is important but just need an anytime, anywhere solution that meets them where they are.”
According to Gaddour, beginning today, StreamFIT will feature a variety of different workouts organized by equipment needs, targeted body parts and specialty workouts, he said. “We will have specialized total body workouts, beginner workouts, workouts for over 40 individuals, busy moms and even workouts for women who are pregnant organized by trimester, which is something nobody else is doing.”
Workouts are also organized by equipment available to the user and also allows the user to target specific body parts.
“We really tried to accomodate every type of fitness level,” Gaddour said. “Most follow-along workouts feature a single training personality with a set number of workouts for only a short period of time. We provide world class coaching, motivation, and programming from the top trainers in the game. Plus, each workout provides proper exercise progressions for people of all fitness levels and a high-energy total fitness experience.”
StreamFIT’s web mobile platform streams workouts to any device with an internet connection including computers, internet TV, smartphones, and tablets. The user can also connect these devices to a TV with a USB to HDMI connection. StreamFIT provides unlimited streaming for $19.99 a month, Gaddour said. "We see a lot of different uses for the stream," he said. "Anywhere from individuals who want the flexibility to workout in their homes to corporations and gyms who want to save money by using the stream in place of an onsite instructor."
Users will get a free 7-day trial, and the monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time, he said. Right now, approximately 60 workouts are available on the site and new workouts will be added monthly. Gaddour worked with Milwaukee-based Flipeleven Creative to produce the workout videos and Milwaukee-based Spreenkler Creative produced the company’s website, Gaddour said.
StreamFIT will officially kick off with a launch party tonight in the Third Ward at MOCT, 240 E Pittsburgh Ave., from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. The event is free to attend and will feature demonstrations, contests, giveaways and food. Cash bar will also be available. For more information visit www.streamfit.com or RSVP on the organization’s Facebook page.
