100 East sold in $416.9 million portfolio deal

A new restaurant could open at the former John Hawks Pub space in the 100 East office building along the Riverwalk in downtown Milwaukee.

Tua Pasta LLC has leased 4,203 square feet of retail space on the ground floor of the building, located at 100 E. Wisconsin Ave, according to Colliers International.

John Hawks had occupied the riverfront space, which totals 7,775 square feet, for 26 years before closing in 2016. The space has sat vacant since then.

Cory Sovine, a real estate broker with Colliers International represented the building’s owner in the deal. Sovine confirmed the leased space is part of the former John Hawks, but could not comment on the business’ plans.

The registered agent for Tua Pasta LLC is Alvaro Ramiro Nino De Guzman Sr., of New Berlin, who could not be reached for comment.

Santa Monica, California-based Hertz Investment Group LLC purchased the 100 Eastbuildingfor $78 million in September 2016. In October, Morningstar Credit Ratings LLC placed a $51.9 million loan on the building on its watchlist “because of a high amount of space available for lease and sublease.”
