New office building to be built at former Pabst brewery

Plans for a 5-story office building, which will be built in the former Pabst brewery complex in downtown Milwaukee, were unveiled last week. Groundbreaking for the $10 million to $12 million project is expected to occur in June.

The 73,100-square-foot building will have a total of 42,000 square feet of office space on the upper three floors and two floors of interior parking with a total of 68 parking stalls.

Blue Ribbon Management, led by Tom Gehl, plans to build the building, called the Pabst Professional Building, just south of the grain elevators at the brewery and just west of the Brewhouse Inn & Suites hotel, which will open next month.

The architect for the office building is Matt Rinka, owner of Milwaukee-based Rinka Chung Architecture.

The leasing agent for the building will be Colliers International|Wisconsin, which has its office in the former Pabst brewery complex.

The financing for the project will come from the federal government’s EB-5 program, said Mike Mervis of Zilber Ltd., which is leading the redevelopment of the former brewey complex and selling portions of the complex to other developers.
