New Jersey-based information technology company GalaxE.Solutions, Inc. is planning to open a Milwaukee innovation center that will bring 300 tech jobs to the city.
In an interview with CNBC, GalaxE chief executive officer Tim Bryan talked about the company's plans for Milwaukee and detailed the company’s model to deliver workforce resilience in the United States during a global pandemic. Bryan pointed to supply chain disruption and how companies with offshore labor were profoundly impacted by COVID-19.
“What we’re looking at right now is work from home in third world countries looks nothing like it looks like in the United States,” Bryan said in the CNBC interview. “That means there’s challenges around infrastructure and challenges around connectivity.”
GalaxE has an onshore-centric delivery model called “Outsource to America” to enable IT workforce resilience. Bryan contends that GalaxE’s proprietary automation capabilities when paired with work-from-home can accomplish the same tasks as offshore labor at a comparable price point.
GalaxE has deployed this model in multiple cities including Hartford, Connecticut and Detroit, Michigan with plans to open a innovation center in Milwaukee by summer of 2020, according to the company’s website.
The company is partnering with MKE Tech Hub Coalition member Northwestern Mutual to bring 300 jobs and an innovation center to Milwaukee, MKE Tech Hub Coalition CEO Kathy Henrich said in a tweet.
“We’re partnering with Northwestern Mutual for Outsource to Milwaukee and you’re looking at almost 300 new jobs being created out of that partnership,” Bryan said on CNBC. “That means that the people that live in Milwaukee and cities like Milwaukee are part of an included pool of individuals where public private partnership, retraining and workforce mobilization all become part of how we add our ability to take work that was going to be off-shored and do it in the United States.”
