New facilities completed at fire-damage Patrick Cudahy site

Opus Development Corp. says it has completed construction of a 55,000-square-foot dry storage facility and connecting corridor on the site of the fire-damaged Patrick Cudahy Inc. plant in Cudahy. The plant was severely damaged by a fire in 2009, caused by a military flare that was launched illegally. Although many of the buildings within the Patrick Cudahy campus were salvaged, a major section of the plant required complete demolition and rebuilding.

“This new, updated facility continues Patrick Cudahy’s reinvestment in the plant following the 2009 fire,” said Julie Ledger, vice president and general manager of Opus’ Milwaukee office. “The facility will allow Patrick Cudahy to be even more competitive by providing additional space for operational components of the headquarters.”
