New bar planned at former My Office space in downtown Milwaukee

763 N. Milwaukee St.

The location in downtown Milwaukee that once housed the bar My Office is slated to reopen as a bar called Your Office, according to a permit application filed with the city.

The proposed business, located at 763 N. Milwaukee St., will operate as a tavern and restaurant offering food, alcoholic beverages and public entertainment. It plans to be open daily, the application says.

My Office closed in 2020, according to its now-inactive Facebook page.

The new venture is being led by Lisa Proeber, owner of business development consultancy The Middle Six. Project partners also include Mike Sorge, owner of Black Sheep, and Nick Starr of Acrisure. Proeber will be responsible for the sales, marketing and public relations, Starr will lead community relations efforts and strategic vision, Sorge will manage daily operations focused on staffing and curating the food and bar menus.

“Walking into Your Office, you’ll be greeted with a warm interior that feels comfortable yet charming and unpolished,” said Proeber in a news release. “The menu is simple and classic. On it, you’ll find the best sandwiches you’ve ever had and craft cocktails at dive bar prices. Your favorite neighborhood bartender will invite you to play a friendly game of bar dice and guests will enjoy pull tabs, slot machines and local sports and entertainment on the TV.”

The menu at Your Office will include sandwiches, craft burgers and “a Milwaukee breakfast brat,” according to the news release.

The building has undergone renovations in recent months, permits show. Construction documents detail interior and exterior upgrades, including new partitions, a kitchen area and space for a future game room.
