Nancy Major

Nancy Major, has joined Daystar Inc., Milwaukee, as its president and chief executive officer. She is a prominent non-profit executive with an extensive background in leadership, management and business operations,

Major will oversee the operational and strategic efforts of Daystar, a non-profit organization that offers a safe haven for women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Major recently served as executive director of Stillwaters Cancer Support Center, Waukesha, and before that, as president and CEO of Waukesha-based Safe Babies Healthy Families.

“We’re thrilled that Nancy has brought her passion and energy to Daystar,” said Jeff Korpal, chair of Daystar’s board of directors. “As a vital resource for women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, we’re confident that her leadership will help Daystar meet the growing needs of the community.”

Major’s professional background includes work in both corporate and non-profit sectors, including several in health care. She has managed companies of varying sizes, owned and sold businesses, and led large regional chapters affiliated with United Cerebral Palsy and Special Olympics. She holds B.A. and master’s degrees from Columbia State University.
