Nabco Entrances Inc., a Muskego-based manufacturer of custom automatic doors and automatic door systems, is looking to lease a neighboring building in order to expand its operations, according to planning documents filed with the city.
The 19,000-square-foot building is located on a one-acre site at W184 S8204 Gemini Drive in the Muskego Business Park, a few parcels away from Nabco’s headquarters at S82 W18717 Gemini Drive.
“It’s very close to their existing site, and the shell fits their needs of their growth well,” said Jeff Muenkel, Muskego’s director of community development.
According to the documents, Nabco plans to add a couple windows to the north façade; replace existing overhead doors with new window and front door systems; and build out the inside of the building into more office spaces and conference rooms, while keeping the back half of the building as warehouse and work space.
Nabco also intends to reconfigure the existing parking stalls along the west property line to be angled in order to facilitate more spaces and add approximately 4,000 square feet of parking lot to the front half of the site. In total, the number of parking stalls would increase from 16 to 42. Lastly, the company plans for additional landscaping to the front half of the site.
The building was previously occupied by Kopp Machine & Tool Corp., and Muenkel said it has been empty for over a year.
The plan commission is scheduled to approve Nabco’s plans on Tuesday.
Nabco representatives declined to comment since the deal is not yet official.
