My Choice Family Care to acquire Trilogy Health Insurance

Wauwatosa-based managed care organization looks to expand services with acquisition

Organizations:

My Choice Family Care Inc., a Wauwatosa-based managed care organization, has agreed to acquire Milwaukee-based Trilogy Health Insurance.

My Choice provides a program available through Medicaid for older adults and people with physical or intellectual disabilities to help them live independently in the community rather than an institutional setting. The organization serves members in 26 counties and collaborates with more than 1,800 service providers.

In 2016, My Choice transitioned its operations from a department of Milwaukee County government to a private not-for-profit organization.

My Choice serves about 8,600 individual through its Family Care program, which is funded by state and federal Medicaid funding. My Choice has about 285 employees.

Trilogy Health Insurance was founded by five Wisconsin insurance executives in 2006. It serves about 11,600 BadgerCare Plus members and operates in 27 counties.

Trilogy’s lines of business are closely aligned with those of My Choice, the organization said.

“As an organization that continues to experience sustained, planned growth while maintaining high levels of member satisfaction, we are very happy for the opportunity to expand our breadth of services to improve the quality of life for a broader group of consumers,” said Maria Ledger, chief executive officer of My Choice. “We look forward to collaborating with the current Trilogy leadership to ensure smooth transition and continuity of services for clients and members alike. We are also committed to continued development of effective working relationships with our network providers.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close early in the second quarter.

Trilogy Health Insurance has 15 employees and they are expected to be retained, said Glenn Reinhardt, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Trilogy.

Services to current My Choice and Trilogy Health Insurance clients will be uninterrupted, My Choice said.
