Monkey Bar Gymnasium to move into Third Ward

Monkey Bar Gymnasium will move its location from downtown Milwaukee to a larger space in the Historic Third Ward.

The new location at 173 N. Milwaukee St. will open on Tuesday, Oct. 1. That location has more than three times the space that Monkey Bar had at its downtown location at 770 N. Milwaukee St.

“We are excited about the move,” said Jeff Winzenried, owner of Monkey Bar Gym’s Milwaukee location. “We are looking forward to providing our members with an improved workout environment equipped with showers and ample space for conducting our classes.”

Based in Madison, Monkey Bar Gymnasium has 11 locations. The Milwaukee location opened in 2011.

Monkey Bar Gym has no equipment other than monkey bars, kettle bells and ropes.

“We step off the machines, take off our shoes and move away from the mirrors,” Winzenried said. “We focus on teamwork and progression to help our clients strengthen their bodies and minds and learn the skills needed to live the healthiest life possible.”
