Missing violin located in Bay View

Milwaukee police have recovered a 300-year-old violin stolen from Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Frank Almond last month, according to a report from WISN 12 News, a media partner of BizTimes.

The Stradivarius violin, worth millions, was located in Bay View and is in good condition, according to WISN 12 News.

Police are holding three people in custody in relation to the theft of the instrument. The theft occurred on Jan. 27 when an individual stunned Almond with a Taser following a concert at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Almond immediately dropped the violin, and the individual fled with it in an older model burgundy or maroon minivan driven by another individual.

The individuals in custody are two men, ages 36 and 41, and a woman, 32, who were arrested at their Milwaukee homes on Monday. They have not yet been formally charged, according to WISN 12 News.
