Milwaukee’s Accelity Group acquires Kaukauna manufacturer

The Accelity Group, a Milwaukee-based group of business owner-operators, announced it has acquired the Kaukauna manufacturing company Mid Valley Industries LLC.

MVI, a provider of heavy metal machining and fabrication services, is the sixth company to join the Accelity Group. The others are Milwaukee-based Super Steel LLC; Lomira-based Empire Coatings LLC; Milwaukee-based Tower Machining; Lomira-based The Jor-Mac Company Inc.; and Milwaukee-based Tower Power Solutions LLC.

The acquisition of MVI comes after the company filed for receivership earlier this year. Accelity Group partnered with Minneapolis-based investment firm Gardner Standard and MVI’s original founder, Kevin Schmid, in the acquisition of the company.

“I see tremendous growth potential for this company over the next several years, and believe that, together with Accelity, Gardner Standard and our incredible group of employees, we will bring this company back to its original success and greatness,” Schmid said.

Launched in early 2014, Accelity Group focuses on partnering with manufacturing companies to provide strategic resources and operational expertise, as well as generating cross-platform opportunities where possible.

Accelity Group’s team is comprised of Paul Luber of The Jor-Mac Company, Roland Parker of SPARTA Capital Partners, Dirk Smith of Super Steel, Scott Yauck of Cobalt Partners LLC, and Bruce Keyes of Foley & Lardner LLP.

“We are thrilled to bring this team’s comprehensive skill set to the manufacturing space and the Accelity Team will leverage its deep industry relationships and significant experience to focus on an area of smaller middle market companies that we think is full of compelling investment opportunities,” said Parker, a founding partner with Accelity Group.
