The deal closed on Dec. 18 for $560,000, according to Kristian Sydow of The Boerke Company, who brokered the transaction. The property, at 4488 N. Oakland Ave., was purchased from 4488 LLC.

“For people who live in Shorewood, The Village Pub is known as a friendly place to hang your hat- a place like Cheers where everyone knows your name,” Sydow said.

“We are honored to be able to support this transaction, which is a big step toward bringing back a beloved establishment for the Shorewood community.”

Sydow could not reveal the name of the new owner, but said the Village Pub was sold to a “seasoned local bar/restaurant group” in Milwaukee.

The 4,350-square-foot building includes the tavern on the ground floor and two upper level apartments. It was built in 1930, and assessed by the village for $731,100.

The Village Pub closed in July 2014.
