Wisconsin-based construction consulting services firm MC Group, LLC, along with Capital Projects and Milwaukee-based real estate firm Emem Group, have been selected to serve as owner’s representatives providing construction consulting services for the development of the future Milwaukee Public Museum, the museum announced Tuesday.

“Signing an owner’s representative brings expert oversight to the future museum construction process to ensure we remain on budget and on schedule as we deliver on our vision to bring this once-in-a-generation new museum to our community,” said Katie Sanders, chief planning officer for MPM.

The new 200,000-square-foot, $240 million museum is planned for a 2.4-acre site northeast of 6th Street and McKiney Avenue in the Haymarket neighborhood near downtown Milwaukee. With $110 million already dedicated to the creation of the new museum, including $40 million from the state of Wisconsin, $45 million from Milwaukee County, and $25 million in private donations, the museum this summer kicked off its a capital campaign to raise the remaining $130 million for the project.

“MC Group is both honored and thrilled to be part of the dynamic and talented team that is forming the future for the Milwaukee Public Museum,” said Angela Brzowski, MC Group partner. “We have custom-built our MC Group team and approach to fit the needs of this iconic project and assure that the vision of the future museum is achieved. Serving our community through this project — which will be enjoyed by many, near and far, for current and future generations — is an honor.”

“The future museum is one of the most culturally significant projects to be developed in our region. It will be a place where everyone can learn and create memories for generations to come,” said Michael Emem, president and CEO of the Emem Group. “Emem Group is honored with the opportunity to contribute to developing this beloved institution.”

The team will work closely with MPM, architecture firms Ennead and Kahler Slater, exhibit designers Thinc Design and contractors at Mortenson and ALLCON to ensure the project follows the outlined schedule and budget and will support the museum with permitting, consultant selection and onboarding, budget, schedule and compliance, said a media release.

Past projects of MC Group include work on Froedtert Hospital at the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center.
