DynaTrap uses UV light and titanium dioxide to attract mosquitoes.

Dynamic Solutions Worldwide LLC, the Milwaukee-based maker of DynaTrap insect traps, has been acquired by Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based Woodstream Corp.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed and Woodstream declined to comment on what the deal could mean for operations in the Milwaukee area.

Dynamic Solutions’ flagship product, the DynaTrap insect trap, uses UV light and carbon dioxide to lure mosquitoes and other predatory insects into a trap. The insects are then vacuumed into a retaining cage and eventually die.

The company had projected revenue of $30 million in 2018. Its products are sold in Home Depot, Costco, Sam’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon, Ace Hardware, QVC, HSN and other online retailers.

Dynamic Solutions was also named to the Inc. 5000 list in 2018, the MMAC’s Future 50 multiple times and received a BizTimes I.Q. award in 2017.

Woodstream, a manufacturer and marketer of branded pest and animal control products, is a portfolio company of Vestar Capital Partners.

Miguel Nistal, chief executive officer of Woodstream, said the acquisition would add a successful product and blue-chip customer to the company.

“Demand for DynaTrap insect traps has never been higher as new and more potent strains of mosquito viruses develop each year,” Nistal said.

Dynamic Solutions founder Juan Rocha said Woodsteam “is the perfect home for DynaTrap.” Woodstream’s other products include ant and rodent control, Havahart live traps, bird feeders and electric fencing.

“There is a natural synergy between our companies, and through this combination, DynaTrap’s products will be introduced to a significant group of new customers. I look forward to helping Miguel and his team integrate the two companies,” Rocha said.
