Milwaukee home sales climb again

Home sales in the metropolitan Milwaukee market were up 11.3 percent in March compared with the same month a year earlier.

 
The market’s first quarter also registered a 14.1 percent increase compared with the first quarter of 2012.

There were a total of 1,420 homes sold in March, compared with 1,276 in March of 2012.  For the first quarter, there were 3,318 sales versus 2,907 in 2012.

Sales in Milwaukee County grew 10.2 percent from last year in March. Waukesha County’s sales grew 17.7 percent, while sales in Washington County grew 17.9 percent, but sales in Ozaukee County fell 11.8 percent.

Through the first quarter, the Milwaukee Metropolitan market has seen an increase in volume that is approaching the levels seen at the height of the boom market in the last decade, according to Greater Milwaukee Associations of Realtors.
