Milwaukee health care technology company raises over $1 million

mpirik, a Milwaukee-based health care technology company, announced today that it has raised $1.75 million to further its mission of providing cutting-edge technology for physicians and hospitals in order to increase patient satisfaction and improve clinical outcomes. The capital included a $250,000 investment from the Brightstar Wisconsin Foundation Inc.

“This is a very exciting time for our company, and the money we have raised is a critical endorsement of our ideas and market potential,” said Sue Ela, president and chief executive officer of mpirik. “The money raised will be invested in product development and further expansion for the company.”

mpirik’s unique portfolio of products include:

• ORI – a mobile application used to send real-time updates from the operating room to the patient’s family and friends. Ori sends text messages directly to the patient’s email or cellphone reminding them of milestones before and after the day of his or her procedure.
• clinicCompanion – a software system that uses an advanced infrared camera to collect objective patient data without a physician present and delivering it to the electronic medical record.
• Joint Registry – a software product that efficiently captures orthopedic data that can be used in predictive analysis and clinical decision making.

“Our company is evolving into an orthopedic care solution by allowing caregivers do what they do best–spend time with the patients,” Ela said.
