A Milwaukee development firm has purchased a Walker's Point parking lot. An affiliate of HKS Holdings, which has done residential, hospitality and office projects throughout the region, bought two lots at 525 and 539 S. 5th St. for $1.3 million, according to state property records. In 2023, HKS bought a 1-acre site directly across the street at 530 S. 5th St. for $1.9 million. The newly acquired parking lot is just south of a building that houses MobCraft Beer, which is currently closed and set to reopen soon under new ownership. Representatives from HKS Holdings did not respond to requests for comment. HKS development projects include The District West Bend, multiple adaptive reuse apartment projects in Milwaukee, the Kimpton Journeyman hotel in the Third Ward and the Hilton Tempo hotel in Westown that the firm hopes to break ground on this year.
