Milwaukee County court races draw scant interest

Pedro Colón is the only one of the 10 incumbent Milwaukee County judges to draw a challenger in the spring election.
Colón, a Democrat who served in the Assembly for 11 years representing Milwaukee’s south side, was appointed to the bench in September by Gov. Jim Doyle.
Glendale Municipal Judge Christopher Lipscomb Sr. and Assistant Attorney General Roy Korte both filed papers this week to challenge Colón in Branch 18.
The primary election is Feb. 15. The top two vote-getters will advance to the April 5 general election.
Nine Milwaukee County Circuit Court judges will be unopposed this spring: Maxine White, Paul Van Grunsven, Timothy Dugan, Mary Triggiano, Dennis Cimpl, Carl Ashley, Frederick Rosa, Jeffrey Kremers and John Seifert.
