MillerCoors joins Water Works initiative

Leading environmental news and information site Mother Nature Network (MNN) has teamed with brewer MillerCoors to create "Water Works: Expert Advice on Water Stewardship Success," a web portal designed to share ideas and further the conversation about how businesses use water.
"When people think about water stewardship, they often don’t think about the role business plays," said Travis Bright, MNN director of sponsor relations. "Protecting water resources is going to be a big part of the future of business, and that’s why we’re proud to be working with so many thought leaders on water stewardship – from MillerCoors and Deloitte Consulting to the Milwaukee Water Council, Ceres, the Sand County Foundation and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce."
MillerCoors brought the Water Works idea to MNN as a way to increase awareness of the importance of ensuring a secure water future for businesses and communities.
"As a leading brewer, we recognize that water is a finite resource and is a relevant issue that affects everyone, regardless of industry or geographic location," said Kim Marotta, MillerCoors vice president of corporate social responsibility. "We’re excited to join the conversation and work together with other businesses across the globe to facilitate discussion and encourage best practices around water conservation."
Water Works provides expert views on how water availability affects the overall economy; how companies such as MillerCoors have incorporated water sustainability into their operations; and ways water use will shape the future of business.
