Downtown bar and restaurant Mikey’s has closed its doors after 11 years, Surg Restaurant Group announced today.

Mikey’s, located at 811 N. Jefferson St., had its last day of normal service on Dec. 31. It plans to remain operational for special events only until its lease expires, according to the announcement.

“We have enjoyed being a part of the East Town neighborhood and are so grateful to our co-workers, family and friends to share our wonderful memories of Mikey’s,” said Michael Polaski, CEO of Surg. “Thank you to everyone who has become part of the Mikey’s family.”

The bar, which first opened in 2007, shifted gears last summer to focus on its nightlife operations and private events, but had continued to serve bar food and drinks five days a week.
