Milwaukee-based Meta House is dedicated to ending the generational cycle of addiction by healing women and strengthening their families. While the core competency of the organization remains steady in substance abuse treatment, it has grown significantly to provide a well-rounded, full range of services to the people it serves.

Amy Lindner, president and chief executive officer, succeeded long-time president Francine Feinberg in 2012, the same year the organization faced a 10 percent cut in available government funding.

“In 2013, Meta House’s leadership team implemented an initiative to help increase revenue through increased insurance billing,” Lindner said.

The team worked to acquire the right credentials and modify their treatment programs so many would be eligible for insurance coverage. The success of the program has increased the organization’s income from just more than $40,000 in 2012 to a projected $150,000 this year, Lindner said.

Meta House continues to innovate and adapt in order to meet the ever-evolving needs of its clients and the industry.
