The Waukesha County Business Alliance has promoted Mervyn Byrd to vice president of sales and leadership development.
Byrd’s role with the Alliance is to encourage organizations to take advantage of the resources offered by the Alliance to help their business succeed. With the addition of Kathy Schwind as inside sales associate, Byrd and the new Alliance sales team have seen greater exposure with businesses throughout the region, highlighting how the Alliance can be a vital resource for growth.
Byrd also oversees the Leadership Waukesha County (LWC) program, a nine-month development course for professionals who live or work in Waukesha County. Under Byrd, the program has undergone a series of changes that has seen the program grow from a handful of students to a class of 40 professionals. Each session explores a different facet of leadership that can immediately be applied at home and at the workplace, strengthening personal and professional skills and engaging students with self-directed community projects.
“The Alliance continues to develop new ways to support business growth in southeastern Wisconsin,” Byrd explained. “Helping these businesses be successful is a mission I can truly get behind, and I hope to share with more organizations.”
Prior to joining the Alliance in 2014, Byrd was a commercial banker with various Milwaukee area banking institutions, and worked with a payroll and HR solutions firm.
