The Milwaukee Center for Independence Pediatric Special Care unit recently earned the Joint commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for its dedication to complying with the Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards on a continuous basis.
“We sought accreditation for Pediatric Special Care because we want to demonstrate our commitment to safety and quality care,” said Howard Garber, president of MCFI. “We view obtaining Joint Commission accreditation as another step toward achieving excellence.”
According to Christine Boyce, director of MCFI Special Care, the program is skilled community-based day nursing severicnes for children ages birth to 20 with complex medical needs. The program currently serves 48 families in the Greater Milwaukee area.
“Accreditation by The Joint Commission sets MCFI Pediatric Special Care apart,” said Michael Kulczycki, MBA, executive director of Ambulatory Care Accreditation Program at The Joint Commission. “Organizations awarded this Gold Seal of Approval dedicate themselves to continuous operational improvement.”
