Matt Burow – Catalyst Construction LLC

At just 30 years of age, Matt Burow, president and chief executive officer of Catalyst Construction LLC, has developed a business philosophy that is mature beyond his years.

“I try being honest and transparent in all my actions,” he said. “It’s not about making every dollar possible. It’s about developing relationships with our clients and really being a true partner with them in the process.”

With Burow’s high-minded management style leading the way, Catalyst recorded $7 million in revenues in 2007 and anticipates topping $15 million in 2008.

The company has maintained its impressive growth partly by becoming a major proponent of green building practices and by utilizing alternative energy sources. For Burow, this is not just a savvy business strategy, but also a function of community leadership.

“We pride ourselves on being leaders in the industry and being innovative,” Burow said. “We have the responsibility to be good stewards.”

Catalyst has also been leading the way in school and church construction, a market in which Burow has vast experience.

“Obviously, everything has a financial impact, but people truly are doing things for the betterment of a situation – be that education, religion or providing senior skills,” he said. “There are other motives out there. It’s just a lot easier to work with individuals like that.”

Burow is a construction mentor at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and sits on the boards of many local organizations. He actively supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee and founded and hosts the Jesus Cares Ministries and New Friends Golf Outing, a fundraising event for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Burow was nominated for the Bravo! Entrepreneur Award by Joeseph Rice of Rice & Associates LLC.
