    Year founded: 2001

Product or service offered: “Material Recovery provides recycling services for industrial and commercial customers. We primarily focus on the recycling of different plastics, but also recycle metal, cardboard and paper. The plastic we process is in turn sold to other plastic molders that can be used as a recycled plastic product in their operations.”

    Projected 2012 revenue: $3 million

    Leadership: Randall Roeder, president

Target clientele: Industrial facilities that generate scrap plastic as a result of their manufacturing operations

Business organization memberships: MRA, Society of Plastic Engineers, Action Coach of Elm Grove

What has fueled your company’s growth? “Growth has mainly been obtained through word of mouth and direct marketing to known generators of scrap plastic.”

What is the biggest obstacle to your company’s growth? “Managing growth internally especially training new employees, handling influx of new materials and sales of processed materials.”

Do you plan any changes in your company in the upcoming months? “We may add a new piece of equipment to help improve our processing efficiency.”

Who are the business people, locally or nationally, whom you admire? And what traits do those people exhibit that make you admire them? “I have numerous friends and family members that own, operate and manage businesses that I look to for inspiration. The common traits they exhibit include honesty, integrity and hard work.”

What is the outlook for the business conditions of your industry over the next several months? “The market for the sale of the recycled plastic has slowed the last couple months. I am hoping for some sort of a rebound in the next 2-3 months.”

What is your company’s key strategy for rising out of the recession? “I always try to exhibit patience and persistence. Keep forging ahead knowing you can’t force things to happen.”
