Massive development proposed in Lake Geneva

Sprawl from the Chicago area continues to put development pressure on Walworth County. Lake Forest, Ill.-based developer Bob Hummel plans to build 882 residences, a 100-room resort, winery and vineyard on a 710 acre property on the south side of the City of Lake Geneva. The site is undeveloped and is located on both sides of Pilgrim Church Road. The residences in the development would be a mix of single-family homes, duplexes, row houses and town houses. The proposal is in the preliminary stages and still must obtain approval from city officials to be built.
