Marquette dental receives $1 million from alumni

Marquette University announced a $1 million donation from Marquette School of Dentistry alumnus Dr. Jeff Moos and his wife, Beth, to go toward the Building for the Future campaign and help fund the school’s 40,000-square-foot expansion.

Both Jeff and Beth earned Marquette degrees. Jeff, who graduated from the dental school in 1983 and achieved an undergraduate degree in biology in 1979, serves as part owner, CEO and chief dental officer of Midwest and Mountain Dental, a group dental practice located in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico and Colorado. The dental group has continued to support Marquette’s dental school with contributions to the expansion campaign and student scholarships.

Two of the Moos’ sons are currently pursuing degrees at the dental school, and Jeff’s uncle and two cousins are also Marquette dentistry graduates.
Marquette will name the dental school’s faculty practice clinic for the Moos.

“Our gift shows how important my Marquette education was in giving me an opportunity, and how I was able to put it to work,” Jeff said in a statement. “It’s a way of giving back.”

“Beth and I have such respect for the values and foundation that Marquette provides,” he said. “It’s a legacy for us, and we’re thrilled that our children will benefit from the same influences we did when we were in school.”
