Fond du lac-based Marian University has named Robert Fale as its interim president.
Fale will serve as a national search is conducted to replace Steven DiSalvo, who is leaving Marian University effective May 31 for a new position.
The search is anticipated to take a year.
Fale is familiar with Marian University and its sponsoring organization, the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes (CSA). Fale served 16 years as president and chief executive officer at Agnesian HealthCare, also a CSA-sponsored institution, before retiring from that position in late 2011.
“We are excited to welcome Bob Fale to Marian University as we strive to continually excel and provide the most beneficial educational experience for our students,” said John Nelson, Marian University board of trustees chairman. “Mr. Fale’s long-standing relationship with CSA and his knowledge of the culture, customs and mission of a CSA-sponsored institution, make him the ideal leader for this interim period. He will enable the university to continue moving forward until a successor to Dr. DiSalvo takes office.”

Since January 2012, Fale has served as president and chief executive officer of Robert Fale HealthCare Consulting LLC.
Fale will take office June 17, 2013.
A Catholic university in the Agnesian tradition, Marian University was founded in 1936 by the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes.
