Manufacturers to honor Wisconsin Republican legislators

Three Republican members of Wisconsin’s congressional delegation will be honored for supporting manufacturing in the state.
U.S. Reps. Paul Ryan (R-Janesville), F. James Sensenbrenner (R-Menomonee Falls) and Tom Petri (R-Fond du Lac) were the only members of the Wisconsin congressional delegation who will receive the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence for their support of manufacturers.
Members of Congress who maintained a voting record of 70 percent or higher during the 111th Congress (2009-2010) will receive the award.
Each key vote was selected by an NAM member-led advisory committee comprised of executives from small, mid-sized and large manufacturing companies. Members of Congress are notified in advance when key votes are pending and why the key vote designation has been made.
“The award is a non-partisan indicator to help manufacturers and their employees sort out the true allies of manufacturing and U.S. competitiveness based on their votes,” said NAM president and chief executive officer John Engler.
