This image, taken by James Conklin circa 1940, shows the widening of West Kilbourn Avenue near North Eighth Street in Milwaukee.  The Milwaukee County Courthouse, still in use today, can be seen in the background. Eighth Street and Kilbourn Avenue no longer meet, and this site is now MacArthur Square.
