Mason Wells acquires Coating Excellence International
Mason Wells, a Milwaukee-based private equity firm, recently acquired Coating Excellence International, LLC, a Wrightstown converter of flexible packaging products.
"Coating Excellence’s skilled workforce, state-of-the-art equipment and experienced management team are all factors that have allowed the company to consistently meet the expectations of its customers," said Tom Smith, senior managing director of Mason Wells. "We believe CEI is extremely well positioned to capitalize on a number of growth markets in the flexible packaging industry.”
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Senior financing for the transaction was provided by M&I Bank, Associated Bank, MB Financial, US Bank and Zions Bank. Mezzanine financing was provided by Prudential Capital Partners. Quarles and Brady LLP served as legal counsel to Mason Wells.

Nekoosa stone company sold
Wisconsin Pride Stone, a Nekoosa manufacturer and installer of veneer stone, was recently sold to Dale Einerson, former vice president of global operations-pet for Spectrum Brands.
Wisconsin Pride Stone’s customer base includes contractors, distributors, commercial developers and homeowners in multiple states. Veneer stone is used for both interior and exterior building projects in commercial and residential construction. Green Bay-based Cornerstone Business Services Inc. facilitated the transaction.
