LISC in search of nominations for MANDI Awards

The Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) Milwaukee chapter has opened up nominations for the 15th annual Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development Innovation (MANDI).

 

The nonprofit organization, which targets its efforts toward neighborhood revitalization and development to stimulate long-term sustainability for businesses and residents, will collect nominations for the MANDA Awards through Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The awards, hosted by LISC Milwaukee, salute individuals, organizations, corporations and projects contributing to the improvement of urban neighborhoods in the city.

MANDI awards include:

*BMO Harris Bank Cornerstone Award, which honors a long-term commitment to neighborhood development that has been effective and reflected persistence
*Northern Trust Navigator Award, which recognizes an individual who has acted as a “visionary” leader to unite a diversity of people and resources in sparking change
*PNC Trail Blazer Award, which highlights an innovative strategy to solving a community problem
*State Farm Building Blocks Award, which honors a real estate project that has a significant impact on the welfare of the community
*Brewers Community Foundation Public Space Award, which salutes the development or use of public space that adds to the development of the community

Nominations for any category can be submitted at www.lisc.org/milwaukee. More information on each category and eligibility guidelines can also be found on the website.

An independent committee will review nominations and select winners to be announced and recognized at a program on Wednesday, April 9.

Last year’s award’s program, which BizTimes Media sponsored as a media partner, honored Washington Park, Charlotte John-Gomez of Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Our Next Generation, Clock Shadow Building, and Progressive Community Health Services.
