Des Plaines, Illinois-based Land and Lakes Development Co. is planning a 247,000-square-foot speculative building in the Mount Pleasant Business Park, located just east of International Drive and south of Highway 20.

The building would be the third and final building for Land and Lakes in the business park. The first building was a 132,000-square-foot building that was sold to Zilber Property Group in 2017. The second build, a 308,000-square-foot facility, was acquired by Dallas-based Hillwood Development Co. last year.

“We’re excited to do the third building, the first two have been very successful,” said Martin Hanley, president of Land and Lakes Development, adding the village has been good to work with as his company has developed its projects in recent years.

The third building is intended for industrial or distribution uses and was designed to appeal to a wide range of users. It will have four office entries, a 32-foot clear height, 23 truck docks and 52 trailer parking stalls.

Village staff estimate the project would add around $14.8 million in assessed value to the nearly 17-acre parcel where the building is proposed.
