Madison-based AnchorBank plans to close the Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan by Dec. 8 if the bank can’t find a buyer for the property by the time it take ownership. Closing the resort would result in the elimination of nearly 300 jobs. At a recent sheriff’s sale in Walworth County, AnchorBank submitted a proposal to take over the financially struggling resort for $19.97 million. No other proposals were received. Anchor had filed a foreclosure case against Lake Lawn in 2009, saying the resort was in default on a $51.9 million loan.
