LA CROSSE – WAFER kitchen gets facelift to teach nutrition, cooking skills

    La Crosse County’s largest food pantry is beefing up its facility with a remodeled kitchen to teach clients about nutrition and cooking.

    The project is a major step toward helping many of the 1,600 families for which WAFER provides food each month become more self-sufficient, executive director Erin Waldhart said Thursday, as three Home Depot workers installed cabinets at the nonprofit organization’s headquarters at 403 Causeway Blvd. in La Crosse.
