When Northfield, Ill.-based Kraft Foods Inc. spins off its global snack company later this year, the spinoff will call Deerfield, Ill. home, not Chicago. The food giant also has ruled out Chicago for its North American grocery company.
“Mondelez will be located in Deerfield, but we haven’t named an address yet,” Kraft spokesman John Simley said.
Kraft Foods Group Inc., the $18 billion North American grocery company, will remain in Kraft’s current Northfield headquarters at Willow and Waukegan roads, Simley said.
Executives had toured several downtown Chicago office buildings for the company.
