Korb + Associates has moved its offices from Milwaukee Street into the ASQ Center in downtown Milwaukee.
The architectural company is leasing 6,000-square-feet on the second floor of the building at 648 N. Plankinton Ave.
The new location will accommodate growth the firm has experienced in the last year, as well as enable to enable Korb to maintain closer contact with its clients, said Liz Syrrakos, company spokesperson.
In April, the principals of Korb Tredo Architects amicably split to pursue new business opportunities. Jason Korb and Jeff Tredo founded the firm in 2006.
Korb purchased Tredo’s half of the business. Tredo took about a quarter of the company’s 20 employees with him to start his own architectural firm in Milwaukee. Korb + Associates specialize in the new construction and renovation of educational facilities, commercial, mixed use, civic, and historic buildings.
There are other changes planned at the ASQ building. The Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, 11600 W. Lake Park Drive, is selling its 32,334-square-foot building and moving into 22,000-square-feet of space being vacated by VISIT Milwaukee on the fourth floor of the the ASQ building.
John Schmidt, chief operating officer at the national non-profit said the Alliance is finalizing the deal with Irgens and expects to move in June 2016.
“Our team is very excited to be part of the downtown community,” Schmidt said.
VISIT Milwaukee is also in negotiations with Irgens for approximately 13,000-square-feet on the second floor of the building. Its current lease expires March 31, 2016.
“We are excited about the impending move to the second floor, which has great activity on the skywalk system,” said Dana Jones, vice president of finance and administration for VISIT Milwaukee.
