“Kohl’s takes pride in being a responsible, charitable member of the communities we serve,” said Jen Johnson, Kohl’s vice president of communications. “Our associates have the ability to positively impact the nonprofits they are passionate about through our world-class volunteer program and our customers can join our efforts and make a difference by supporting our cause merchandise program, which directly benefits children’s health initiatives nationwide.”

Each year, thousands of Kohl’s associates volunteer their time and talents to youth-serving nonprofits in communities across the country. With every qualifying event, the participating organization receives a $500 grant from Kohl’s. In 2015, associates volunteered nearly 500,000 hours benefiting more than 7,700 nonprofit organizations through Associates in Action. Since the program’s inception in 2001, more than 3.7 million hours have been volunteered and Kohl’s has donated more than $112 million in corporate grants.

Kohl’s volunteer program is part of the company’s overall philanthropic platform, Kohl’s Cares, which includes the Kohl’s Cares Hospital Program and Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise. The merchandise features children’s books and soft toys, with 100 percent of net profit benefiting children’s health programs nationwide. Since 2000, Kohl’s has raised nearly $300 million for children’s initiatives through the merchandise program.
