Kohl’s is continuing its support of Hunger Task Force with a $750,000 donation to the Milwaukee-based nonprofit hunger relief organization.
The donation will support the expansion of the organization’s My Plate program, which provides healthy portions and food types based on USDA nutrition recommendations to the nearly 50,000 people that HTF serves. The funding will allow HTF to convert 10 additional pantries in its network to MyPlate pantries.
“Through Kohl’s generous support, Hunger Task Force is able to provide hundreds of thousands of pounds of healthy food and expand our MyPlate program with the addition of nearly 10 pantries in the Hunger Task Force network, increasing the availability of nutritious food for Milwaukee families in need,” said Sherrie Tussler, Hunger Task Force executive director. “We thank Kohl’s for valuing our community’s youth and helping them to learn, grow and play free of hungTer.”
The donation will also allow the organization to serve approximately 65,000 meals for low-income Milwaukee children during the summer, when they lose access to breakfast and lunch served at school or daycare, and provide meals and stacks at after-school meal programs during the academic year through the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Over the past decade, Kohl’s and its philanthropic arm have committed more than $7.6 million to Hunger Task Force.
