Kohl’s and Roundy’s donate for tornado relief

Menomonee Falls-based Kohl’s Department Stores and Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. are donating to help victims of a tornado that struck Moore, Okla., on Monday.

Kohl’s announced a $250,000 cash donation toward tornado relief efforts.

Kohl’s is providing this donation to the American Red Cross, which is delivering much-needed emergency supplies and services in the tornado-impacted areas.

In addition to a financial contribution, Kohl’s encourages its associates to volunteer in support of cleanup efforts through its Associates in Action volunteer program. In recognition of volunteer hours, Kohl’s will donate additional corporate grants to the nonprofit organizations being supported by Kohl’s associates.

“We are deeply saddened by the devastation experienced by those in and around Moore, Okla., due to the tornado that struck Monday,” said Kevin Mansell, Kohl’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. “It is our sincerest hope that providing financial assistance and volunteer service will be of help and support to individuals and families as they work to rebuild their homes, schools and communities.”

Roundy’s is donating 18 pallets of purified drinking water that were transported by a semi-truck on Wednesday.
