Kohl to hold hearing on airline merger in Pewaukee

    U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.) will hold a Senate Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee field hearing on Friday, Feb. 25, in Pewaukee.
    The hearing is titled “The Southwest/AirTran Merger and its Impact on M-7 Businesses, Consumers and the Local Economy” and will examine the impact of the proposed merger on local communities.
    Witnesses will include: Gary Kelly, chairman, president and CEO of Southwest Airlines; Robert Fornaro, chairman, president and CEO of AirTran Holdings Inc.; C. Barry Bateman, airport director at General Mitchell International Airport; Timothy Sheehy, president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce; and Diana Moss, director and vice president of the American Antitrust Institute.
    The hearing will begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Waukesha County Technical College, Pewaukee Campus, Lecture Hall B140, 800 Main St.
