Kenosha council approves TIF for Amazon.com distribution center

Plans for an Amazon.com distribution center are moving forward in Kenosha.

The City Council unanimously approved a series of proposals for the $250 million project Monday night. The council has authorized $18 million in tax incremental financing (TIF) and approved a development grant agreement and conditional use permit.

The developer, KTR, will lease the property near I-94 and 38th Street to Amazon. The 1.5 million-square-foot warehouse will create 1,100 full-time jobs.
