U.S. Sen.-elect Ron Johnson, the Oshkosh Republican who ousted three-term incumbent Russ Feingold in November, will hold events early next month in Milwaukee and Washington, D.C., to commemorate his inauguration.
On Jan. 4, the day before he’s sworn in, Johnson will attend a $125-per-person fundraiser at The Grain Exchange in Milwaukee, with an invitation to supporters to contribute toward retiring Johnson’s campaign debt. Johnson, owner of plastics firm Pacur, sunk $8.7 million of his own cash into the campaign.
The following day, Johnson’s campaign is hosting a free-to-attend evening cocktail reception at Johnny’s Half Shell in D.C. His campaign also invites supporters to view the swearing-in ceremony and have brunch in a U.S. Capitol room to be determined.
