Johnson Controls Power Solutions named supplier of the year by GM

Johnson Controls Power Solutions, the battery division of Glendale-based Johnson Controls, has received the 2010 Supplier of the Year Award from General Motors Corporation. This is the third consecutive year that Johnson Controls has been recognized by GM.

"We are pleased to receive this award from General Motors, which acknowledges our continued focus on exceeding our customers’ quality and performance standards," said Alex Molinaroli, president of Johnson Controls Power Solutions, who accepted the award on behalf of the business. "We look forward to continuing to work with GM as the automotive battery takes on an increasingly important role in the vehicle."

Johnson Controls Power Solutions’ 35 manufacturing facilities supply more than one third of the lead-acid batteries to automotive OEMs and aftermarket retailers. Its joint venture, Johnson Controls-Saft, is the first company in the world to produce lithium-ion batteries for mass production hybrid vehicles.
